The boundaries of the Scottish Lowlands and The Highlands meet in Loch Lomond & the Trossachs National Park. Only an hour above Glasgow, it offers the first taste of rural Scotland for those travelling on the West Highland way which runs the length of the Loch. For this reason the western shores are busier with activity hubs, where the eastern side is quieter and where many popular hiking trails begin.
