The Milton Keynes Borough map was sent to The Queen in December 2021 in the successful city status bid document. Milton Keynes was formally announced a city at The Queen's Platinum Jubilee Celebrations in 2022 and in 2023 the design was gifted to King Charles on his first visit to formally mark MK's new city status.

The design covers from Woburn Sands in the south, up to Warrington in the north taking in the full area of Milton Keynes.

12km of untouched sand, backed by dramatic mountains inside Jandía Natural Park, Cofete Beach is one of the wildest and most remote beaches in the Canary Islands.

Tips before you go:

• 🚗 The last ~20 km from Morro Jable is a winding dirt road and sometimes slow bumpy ride (especially the first 4/5km). In small cars it can get uncomfortable, so I’d recommend a 4x4 for a better experience. Allow about 45–50 minutes from Morro.
• 🚌 A 4x4 small style bus returns to Cofete from Morro bus station twice a day for apx €9 each way.
• 🥾 A famous 10km hike from Morro crosses the Degollada del Gran Valle mountain pass over the Jandia Massif and descends onto the beach. Many walk one way and bus back.
• 💧 Bring water, snacks, sunscreen and shade as there are almost no facilities. There’s a small restaurant in the settlement of Cofete but that’s it. A windbreak is essential if you want to spend some time resting on the beach.
• 🌊 Swimming is not advised due to strong Atlantic currents, so most people just paddle and enjoy the views.
• 📸 Stop at the viewpoints on the mountain road for some of the best views on the island.
• 🏖️ Walk north along the beach to see Roque del Moro, a huge rock rising from the sand.
• 📚War time legends surround the solitary large Villa Winter built above Cofete Beach in the 1940s

Expect huge waves, dramatic scenery, and almost total wilderness, that’s what makes Cofete so special❤️

Parque Natural de las Dunas de Corralejo is a protected national park on the northeast coast of Fuerteventura. Think huge sand dunes, wide sweeping beaches, dramatic views, and endless wind-shaped landscapes that feel like the Sahara (well you are off the coast of Africa) AND love that it was a £64 return flight from the UK.

Here’s some handy tips for when you visit the park:

✅ Best approach: Drive south from Corralejo on the main road FV-1 / FV-104 that runs straight through the park. Park beside the road or in the informal car parks along the route.
✅ Walk 10/15 mins inland from the road for the larger dunes and that isolated Sahara Desert feel
✅Early morning or sunset also give much better photos and fewer people (altho they’re so vast you can always find a quiet spot)
✅Bring more water than you think (1.5-2L) per person
✅Expect winds. The island is famous for its breeze and winds so bring a neck buff and wear sunglasses.
✅The largest dunes are just south of the Riu Palace hotel area by Grandes Playas de Corralejo
